I planned and built a model called SYADYTUM, an online platform with online Group therapy sessions and Online Support Groups. Details are given below : A support group, or social support group, is a group of people who are led by a professional and come together with a goal of overcoming or coping with a shared problem. With the leadership of the professional, they share help, comfort, encouragement, advice, and guidance to face their challenges together. SYADYTUM is an upcoming online platform(website and app) that would facilitate the end-user to join Support Groups & Group Therapies(with qualified therapists & psychologists). Drawbacks of in-person support groups and how SYADYTUM provides the solution for them. 1. The platform would enable them to join the group sessions for their issue eg. coping with a recent death, addiction to shoplifting etcetera. 2. The platform will provide options to hide your identities and join the meetings using your own chosen code names hence protecting your privacy and preventing stalking. 3. In offline support meetings, For those who have a severe social phobia, it might be difficult to speak in front of the group in person. Additionally, for members who have experienced traumatic events, it could be triggering or overwhelming to have to take part in discussions about abuse or trauma. And having to share intimate details of past experiences with relative strangers might be difficult for someone with social fears to do. Using the SYADYTUM platform would make it easier to open up and speak with more confidence since all the meetings would be online and identities would remain hidden. 4. The larger the group of people, the more likely to have personality clashes among group members. Also, since you won’t be the sole focus off of the session, treatment is likely to be diluted and it could take longer to see results. Thus, the group sessions on the SYADYTUM platform would be of small sizes and meetings would take place using video conferencing software like zoom. 5. In-Person Group sessions usually take place at specific days and times that might not be convenient to you and could make rescheduling an issue. The day and time are usually set and you can either make it – or you can’t. However with SYADYTUM, group meetings would take place on fixed days, frequencies, and timings and you can choose among the batches and if you still feel inconvenient with the timings, you can join another group with the same instructor/therapist at a different time slot. 6. Sometimes you are not satisfied with the in-person group meetings or are not able to find the solution to your problem, SYADYTUM would provide you with the facility of scheduling 1 on 1 sessions with your instructors.
