The lipids contained in Physiogel are similar to those found in skin, as with the lipids in the stratum corneum form a lamellar (layered) structure. The lipids supplement the naturally occurring inter-cellular lipids in the stratum corneum to reduce the loss of moisture from the skin surface allowing moisture levels to increase within the skin.
