Strategic minerals have a substantial role to play in the development and security of the nation and play a critical role in the development of the national economy. The paucity of strategic minerals in India has been a serious concern for the last several decades as the country is highly dependent on imports for the supply of strategic minerals Growing global demand, high value, declining production and constant pressure for finding new mineral deposits captivate not only India’s but also the world’s outlook towards strategically important minerals. It is a major area of concern for India, since regular supply from foreign countries may be interrupted for obvious reasons such as changing the geopolitical situation or the foreign mineral producers forming cartels to dictate the prices. Amongst the six countries namely, China(DRC), Russia, Brazil, Australia and the US, on which India is significantly dependent on procuring minerals, India is most dependent on DRC. Unfortunately, DRC is one country with maximum political turbulence, and the African region as such has witnessed various civil wars. In the present geopolitical scenario, India needs to focus on adopting superior technology for recycling, exploring substitutes, retain and modernize the stockpiling of strategic materials, and encourage research and development in this area Keeping the present scenario of over dependence on import of inorganic based chemicals/ compounds/salts from various countries pertaining to the strategic metals, our company has been formed to focus on following metals at its proposed Siliminabad plant site in Katni District of Madhya Pradesh. We will be working on primarily 3 metals : TIN TANTALUM TUNGSTEN The raw materials ( ore/concentrate) will be imported from South East Asia, Africa and Latin America to cater the requirement of the feed to the plant. The production will facilitate manufacturing at lower cost by adopting innovative and latest technology.
