Trell-X is a material innovation startup focused on converting low-value CAT III waste plastic into high-performance structural products for agriculture. The startup addresses two major challenges: the environmental burden of non-recyclable plastic waste and the limitations of conventional materials used in farm infrastructure. Its core product is engineered composite poles designed for supporting perennial crops such as black pepper. Manufactured using a proprietary process, these poles offer superior strength, durability, and weather resistance, making them a reliable alternative to PVC, cement, and GI. Compared to PVC, which becomes brittle over time, Trell-X poles provide higher structural integrity and longer life. Unlike cement poles that are heavy and prone to cracking, they are lightweight, impact-resistant, and easy to install, reducing labor and logistics costs. In comparison to GI, which is susceptible to corrosion and theft due to scrap value, Trell-X poles are corrosion-resistant, weatherproof, and have no resale scrap value. The poles are designed to perform under harsh outdoor conditions, including high humidity, rainfall, and UV exposure, ensuring long-term usability. Their material properties also reduce heat retention compared to metal supports, improving plant interaction. Trell-X also extends its material innovation to produce composite pallets suitable for food and agricultural supply chains. These pallets are non-porous, moisture-resistant, and hygienic, offering a sustainable alternative to wooden pallets. By integrating waste management with product innovation, Trell-X follows a circular economy approach, transforming difficult-to-recycle plastic into durable and scalable infrastructure solutions.
