There are about 2.6 million ex-servicemen, and 60,000 widows, including war widows, i.e. a combined total of 3.2 million, of whom about 86 percent are widows, Junior Commissioned Officers, Non Commissioned Officers , and other ranks, and about 14 percent are officers. Retired Armed Forces personnel till 2002 could avail medical facilities only for specific high-cost surgery/treatment for a limited number of diseases covered under the Army Group Insurance (Medical Branch Scheme) (AGI(MBS)) and Armed Forces Group Insurance Scheme (Management Information System) (AFGIS (MIS)) schemes. These Medicare schemes could provide some relief to the ESM, but it was not a comprehensive scheme as compared to and available for other Central Government Employees. Therefore, the requirement was felt of establishing a Medicare system which could provide quality Medicare to the retirees of the Armed Forces. In India, Armed Forces Medical Services are providing medical cover to its serving / Ex-serving soldiers and their dependants. Out of all Medical Services, Hearing impairment is one of the major issues where Armed Forces hospitals are battling to provide comprehensive hearing care within economic limits. Approximate 50% of the Ex-serving population has the hearing issues and they are provided with basic hearing instruments which are currently imported in India, due to financial limitations. Our Moto : Keeping the hurdles in view and to make aids and appliances available to the personnel of Armed Forces at affordable price, an Idea of “Turtle Maarks” was germinated with focus on providing Quality Hearing Equipment, After Care Services & “MAKE IN INDIA” products for the personnel of Defence Services in India. Our ultimate moto is to upgrade the lives of our serving/ex-serving soldiers and their families with technically advanced and custom-made aids and appliance for Hearing Impaired persons along with comprehensive after care service.
