The aim of our start-up is to utilize the limited space in urban areas. Places like hotels, resorts and even households have some limited space which can be used to grow vegetables and other herbs. Be it a large or a small hotel there is always some space on the roofs or balconies and this space can be utilized to construct Frio Grow Houses ( convenient polyhouses) and Frio 4×4 (electrical appliance). Any community space which is available can be used for cultivation and the concept of community gardens can be encouraged.Imagine a model that could serve you fresh vegetables and herbs at your home, resort, restaurant and hotel. This model would also increase the aesthetic aura of that place. As the hotels and restaurants have more space as compared to individual houses “Frio Farm” setup could be established at these places. Frio Farm would be a protected structure where vegetables and herbs are grown hydroponically. With soil-less farming forget about the hassle of managing soil borne diseases; forget watering your plants regularly, consuming chemical free produce and the best part is seeing the journey of this produce from taking baby steps to coming to its final fate; into your plate. The highlight of hydroponics is the judicious use of water; hydroponics uses 20 times less water compared to conventional farming. In a hydroponics setup water is re-circulated in the system thereby increasing water use efficiency.
