Ultima Ratio Defence Private Limited (incorporated on 04/07/2025, Bengaluru) is a home-grown defence manufacturing and R&D company established to deliver world-class small arms, ammunition and associated systems — designed, prototyped and manufactured in India — for the Indian Armed Forces, paramilitary and police units, and the security forces of friendly foreign nations. Primary objectives Establish a truly Made in India prototyping and manufacturing facility for the design, development and production of high-quality small arms, ammunition and related components. Ensure that intellectual property rights for all designs and innovations remain in Indian hands. Create an R&D and innovation hub for advanced materials, prototyping and upgrade solutions that strengthen India’s defence industrial base. Product & capability scope Multi-calibre sniper rifles (including .338 Lapua Magnum & 7.62×51mm NATO) Assault rifles (NATO and Russian calibres) Light machine guns Sub-machine guns and pistols High-performance small-calibre ammunition and medium/heavy calibre ammunition lines (planned) Upgrades and modernization kits for legacy weapon systems R&D programs for advanced metals and materials for defence applications Key performance goals (next 5 years) Complete prototyping, testing and field trials in partnership with Indian Special Forces and user organisations within 6–12 months of programme start. Commission a dedicated R&D & Innovation Hub that attracts top technical talent from India and abroad to move beyond manufacturing to sustained innovation, design ownership and export readiness. Establish domestic manufacturing lines with stringent quality, reliability and regulatory compliance to meet defence procurement standards. Vision Within five years Ultima Ratio Defence will be the trusted, one-stop Indian supplier for weapons platforms, armour, tactical accessories, clothing and military gear — enabling warfighters to adapt to an evolving battlespace.
