UNHU ENTERTAINMENT LLP
Dehradun, Uttarakhand
In their own words
What is Unhu?Unhu is a Free Knowledge Sharing Social Networking application, currently available on Google Play Store. Problem? We conducted a survey amongst 500 people, where we realised that millennials & post-millennials (people born after the 90s) are spending over 6hrs daily on social media. More than 80% of them are distracted from their goals, due to these social platforms. Neither can we snatch the phones nor take away the internet from them. Now, how do we solve this grave problem? They are the future of our country. Solution. Unhu solves this problem by simply encouraging users to become more self-aware and develop their skills by connecting them to a network where knowledge & ideas are exchanged. Value Proposition People may not connect with content, but they do connect with people. The confidence received from social appreciation through likes & comments on our looks, encourages us to wear better clothes and look better everyday. This is the same social confidence that our users get from Unhu, but not on their looks but on their knowledge; in-turn encouraging them to sharpen their skills daily and sharing their learnings with their network. USP Users on our platform firstly aim at receiving an L1 badge (Level 1). The increase in the level of their badge is directly proportionate to the increase in the amount of money they can earn from the app. For eg. if a person has great knowledge & interest in Science, he/she may get a Science Guru L1 badge. From there onwards, all of their posts, related to the badge that they were awarded with, are incentivised with a digital currency called Klaps (where 1 Klap=1rupee). This gives an extra push to the users where they are not just appreciated through likes and comments, but are also rewarded with digital money for their knowledge & skills. This automatically ensures curation and positioning of the application, i.e. Knowledge Sharing. Today's Incomplete Alternatives 1. Facebook: Primary focus of a user on Facebook is to know what's happening in another person's life. Knowledge is not the primary focus and thus, it is very distracting. 2. Quora: Primarily a question & answer platform with lesser active engagements. 3. Byjus: Students and academia as the primary focus. Byjus is a paid application. 4. Knappily: Just like other news apps, there are no active engagements & interactions; but rather, information provided from one side. Support from Anand Kumar-Super 30 We have received the kind support from Mr.Anand Kumar. He is a mathematician, best known for his Super 30 programme.
