uoQpi, pronounced you occupy, is a co-working space designed specifically for women-led and women founded businesses. It is Delhi-NCR’s first co-working space that has been designed keeping the needs of women in mind. There is a need to increase the number of women participation in both the start-up industry as well as in the corporate world. Some globally published facts: - Closing the gender gap globally in the workforce could add a staggering $28 trillion to the global economy. If women participation is equal to that of men in India, it is presumed that it would inject further $2.9 trillion to India’s GDP, thereby taking India a step forward to reach its $5trillion GDP target of 2024. - India’s population is 1.37 billion and the gender ratio 48.2% female and 51.5% males and yet there are only 8 million women entrepreneurs in India - Between January and September 2019, only 5.2% of the $9.14billion raised in overall funding is by startups with a female founder or co-founder These astonishing facts got us thinking and therefore we decided that there was a need to solve for this. This led to the inception of uoQpi. uoQpi is a combination of a physical space with a community, filled with inspirational women in business, where collaborations and brain storming ideas are born. Our vision is to become an ‘incubator for women led start ups’ to drive change in the startup industry by providing them with all the tools and resources that they need to excel. We welcome start-ups, businesses and corporate teams to occupy our premises that are led by women. It is a platform where she meets to work, collaborate, network, attend events and brainstorm ideas together. Here’s a little about the founders behind uoQpi: Megha Agarwal Megha is the analytical brain behind uoQpi. In 2019, after spending more than a decade working overseas in a finance sector, she took the brave step to take a break from the corporate world and decided to develop a project that enabled women to reach out and grow through networking. Having experienced the pressures of the corporate world, Megha understood the need for an avenue that provided women the escape they needed to re-energise, re-boot and re-connect with their own. She is passionate and believes in the power of collaboration, values talent and determination and hopes to inspire women to be innovative without any boundaries. Neha Agarwal Neha the creative head behind uoQpi, and has been a freelance photographer since the past 10 years specialising in maternity and baby photography, under the brand Studionezz. The inception of uoQpi was construed as a result of her many interactions throughout her career with women from different walks of life. Neha realised that not all women have a platform to showcase their ability and talent. Qualified and ambitious women have to hold back due to lack of resources and unsafety environment. This gave her the idea to create a community work space that allows women to network, learn, grow and empower each other in a healthy way while staying in a safe and relaxed environment.
