Innovation: Cotton Ball Picker Function: Mechanical harvesting of cotton Description of Machine: Major components of cotton plucking unit are stirring system, conveyor belt, aspirators and storage cabin. The unit takes power from PTO. When the tractor moves forward, the cotton plant comes in between the guides which forward the plants towards the plucking unit. The cotton bolls are plucked by stirring rods giving jerk to ball to fall down on the conveyer belt underneath. Rolling conveyer belts of rubber carries the bolls towards suction pipes on both sides. Aspirators suck the cotton bolls through suction pipes. Innovative element of machine: The innovation is in stirring system of ball bearing braches in such manner that unripe ball don't fall on conveyer belt but only the ripe ones get plucked. He spent around 15 years of his life in optimizing various mechanisms with just the right to rque to perform this function optimally.
