Vajra Biochar Private Limited is a cleantech startup converting agricultural waste (banana pseudo stem, coconut shell, coffee grounds, cotton gin waste, bamboo etc.,) into precision-engineered biochar products for industrial, environmental, and agricultural use. Our innovation is not biochar production but the science of functionalizing biochar, tailoring pyrolysis temperature, feedstock chemistry, and surface modification to create specialized products. No manufacturer offers functionalized biochar across gas treatment, water purification, nanomaterials, and agriculture on a single platform. Our flagship product, the Vajra Box H₂S scrubber, uses a patented multi-layer chemisorption-physisorption mechanism to remove hydrogen sulphide from data centres, biogas plants, and ETPs at lower cost. Patent filed April 2025. Spent media returns to farms as potassium-sulphur fertilizer, closing a circular loop. This waste-in, resource-out model runs across all products: RAS aquaculture biofilters, wet waste composting accelerators, microplastic filters, and green-synthesized nano-composites (Fe₃O₄, ZnO) using agri-waste extracts instead of toxic chemicals. Every feedstock would otherwise be burned in fields, releasing CO₂. Pyrolysis locks carbon for 500 to 1,000 years, generating carbon credits. Farmers earn income from waste they previously discarded. Our products support Circular Economy, Swachh Bharat, Carbon Neutrality 2070, farmer income doubling, and reduction of stubble burning. Addressable market exceeds ₹50,000 crore annually in India with significant export potential. With active field trials underway and an IP pipeline across multiple product verticals, Vajra addresses markets where no Indian startup operates today. Vajra is thus simultaneously a waste management company, a material science company, a carbon sequestration company, and a farmer income platform, all built on a single underutilized resource, agricultural waste.
