We are building a platform to empower small shopkeepers to compete against large e-commerce companies. Core Concept: Customers will be able to find out if the product they are planning to buy online is available at nearby stores and compare prices across different shops. Purchases will happen offline — we will only connect customers to shops. There will be no delivery or online payment system initially (these features may be added later). Key Offerings: 1. Products: Customers can discover products in nearby stores, particularly high-margin items often preferred for online purchases. No real-time stock management needed. Many shopkeepers are already familiar with listing on platforms like Amazon/Flipkart, so listing locally won't be a challenge. 2. Services: Local service providers like salons, parlours, gyms, etc., can be listed (similar to Justdial but with appointment booking options). 3. Local Jobs: A dedicated section for local job postings, similar to newspaper classifieds. Focused on jobs like school teachers, small businesses, and other non-corporate roles, mainly in Tier 1 and Tier 2 cities. LinkedIn is not suitable for such jobs, and newspapers are outdated and expensive. Revenue Model: Zero commission: We will never charge a commission on any sale. Premium services: Revenue will come from optional paid features like: Featured listings (top of search results) WhatsApp promotions targeting local audiences Inventory clearance sales, near-expiry sales promotions Special promotional campaigns Free services: Basic listings Unlimited local job postings Current Validation: We have surveyed 300+ small shopkeepers, and over 92% are willing to list their products on our platform. Delivery: Delivery is not a current priority. Shopkeepers can arrange deliveries independently if they want. Purpose of the Jobs Section: Increase user engagement and footfall on the app. Provide added value beyond just shopping and services.
