Versa Drives Private Limited is a technology company in Coimbatore that specializes in motor control. These motor control products have applications ranging from Elevators, EVs to drones, solar pumps, Textile machines to fitness equipment. The years of continuous innovation and exceptional product support to our OEM customers have led to us being considered one of the premier motor control developers and manufacturers in the country. This expertise and potential growth caught the attention of Murata Manufacturing (Japan) and in 2019 they acquired a small share in Versa Drives. Eco-friendliness has been a way of life at Versa Drives and thus a core theme in all our products. The huge environmental cost of regular inefficient ceiling fans prompted us to develop a BLDC motor-based ceiling fan with an intent to reduce those effects. This innovation became Superfan, India’s first super energy efficient ceiling fan in 2012. Superfan introduced several ‘firsts’ that later became industry standards such as super efficiency, service value greater than 6, 5-year warranty, in-home service, and integrated remote, to name a few. Superfan worked closely with the agencies like CLASP, BEE, BIS to improve the efficiency requirement in fans and played a role in improving the minimum efficiency and intended mandatory star labeling. This success prompted the emergence of new fan brands that followed Superfan design. Later the acceptance of BLDC fans in the market and the government mandate forced the large popular brands to bring at least one model of BLDC fans by either importing or borrowing the design. In 2021, when BLDC fans had become an industry standard, Superfan once again raised the bar through the Super Q model. The innovation of Super Q is on the blades when combined with Superfan’s BLDC motor, the efficiency increased by 30% than any other BLDC fan and delivers 20% more airflow than any other ceiling fan. This performance was recognized by BEE (Ministry of Power, India) as the most energy efficient ceiling fan in India. All these innovations have been recognized with several patents and many national and international awards.
