Virya Mobility 5.0 LLP was formed in 2017 and started operation in 2018 to bring together all EV capabilities developed and nurtured within the Maini Group for the last 25 years under a single umbrella. The Vision of Virya is to develop technologies that will accelerate the implementation of electric mobility in the country. Virya’s key business areas are Electric Vehicle Integration, Powertrain and charging solutions, Autonomous vehicles and asset tracking solutions. I) Electric vehicle integration – under this area, Virya’s full solution offering includes the below,  Design, Development & Simulation  Prototyping  Quick Vehicle Integration  Optimization of powertrain performance & efficiency  Vehicle validation  Vehicle homologation II) Powertrains – Virya offers powertrains for 2 wheelers, 3 wheelers (Cargo & passenger) and 4 wheeler micro trucks as OEM solution and retrofit solution as well. It specializes in the design, packaging and optimization of Powertrain’s Size, Cost and Performance. Our Powertrains are small in size, made of light weight components apt for packaging in existing OEM vehicle platforms. Objective is to provide proven technology at reasonable cost. Robust performance is attained through optimization of Speed, Acceleration, Gradability and Range. We work with partners both global & domestic to design, develop and source right sized electric powertrain components. Powertrain business has been recently initiated to augment our chargers business. III) Chargers – Our very first chargers was developed in the late nineties with the help of US based designers. We have then constantly improved & developed the chargers over the last 25 years to suit Indian grid power, load conditions and electric vehicle drive cycles. We make both Off Board and On Board chargers with output voltages of 24V, 48V and 72V and Max power of upto 2.3 kW. Currently we manufacture & supply these On Board Chargers (OBCs) and DC-DC Convertors to India’s only electric OEMs namely Mahindra Electric and Tata Motors. IV) Autonomous vehicles – Virya’s current focus is to develop autonomous vehicles for in plant or on campus applications leveraging a range of visioning technologies. We have developed series of prototypes inhouse, in association with certain partners specializing autonomous and robotic technologies. The autonomous tech is truly independent with path/navigation planning capabilities. Hence it’s portable without limiting to fixed paths like yesteryear AGVs. The current platforms for prototypes including Tow trucks and Buggies. V) Asset Tracking – Virya has delved into this area of business to create connected devices leveraging the power of IoT to track the Number & location of assets and to monitor the health of various key components. The objective of Asset tracking solutions is to increase asset utilization and vehicle uptime and to reduce maintenance costs through real time scheduled preventive maintenance. This is particularly useful for customers with a medium to large fleet of material handling equipment or in campus electric mobility vehicles. Virya has a core team with veterans in India’s EV Space having decades of on ground EV experience. Led by the Maini brothers, Virya is envisioned to play a vital role in transforming India’s EV landscape.
