CorneaDX, developed by VistaMed AI Vision Pvt Ltd, is an India-first ophthalmic AI platform built to improve how eye diseases are detected, documented, and managed in clinical settings. The startup is focused on solving a major gap in eye care: most AI tools are not designed around real ophthalmology workflows, especially slit-lamp examination, which remains one of the most important diagnostic tools used by eye doctors. CorneaDX aims to bring intelligent decision support directly into the hands of ophthalmologists, optometrists, and hospital teams through a workflow-native, explainable, and scalable system. The platform combines proprietary capture infrastructure, AI-based analysis, and connected hospital workflow software to create a complete ophthalmic care layer. It is designed to support corneal and anterior segment disease detection first, with a path to expand into fundus imaging and retinal disease screening such as diabetic retinopathy. CorneaDX also supports both cloud-based and locally hosted deployment, allowing hospitals to choose the setup that best fits their infrastructure and data governance needs. India faces a large eye care challenge, with a shortage of ophthalmologists, uneven access across urban and rural regions, and a growing burden of preventable blindness. CorneaDX is being built to help bridge this gap by enabling faster screening, better triage, structured documentation, and improved access to specialist-level interpretation. The system is intended to be useful not only in large hospitals but also in smaller clinics and partner institutions where specialists may not always be available. VistaMed AI Vision Pvt Ltd is currently building early deployment partnerships with hospitals and institutes to collect real-world clinical data, refine the product, and improve model performance. The long-term vision is to create a trusted ophthalmic AI and hospital workflow platform that can scale across India and later adapt to other global markets.
