Vitulomics Private Limited is a startup focusing on solving problems in the veterinary sector. Our major area of interest is developing alternatives to antibiotics for the dairy industry. The development of antimicrobial resistance is a clear and present danger to global health and the veterinary sector is one of the major contributors to this developing epidemic. While widespread overuse of unnecessary antibiotics fuels resistance, the entire sector is handicapped by the presence of few, if any, viable alternatives to antibiotics in order to tackle the disease loads. We at Vitulomics, are designing novel and sustainable antibiotic alternatives to control devastating diseases like bovine clinical mastitis and calf scours, that have multiple sources of action so as to minimize the development of resistance, while retaining or bettering the efficacy of the current prescribed antibiotics. More than 1000 farmers have benefited by our recently released clinical mastitis treatment.
