AUTOMATED MOBILE UNIT (AMU) - INSECT TECHNOLOGY - BLACK SOLDIER FLY The idea behind using BSF as waste management technology is that the BSF mediated waste processing has higher and faster conversion rates to compost (within 14 days), and reduced emissions ( 68.5% less) compared to contemporary technologies. The compact model Automated Mobile Unit (AMU) can be used as a plug and play unit (a modular form), which can be placed in community thereby reducing the collection and transportation cost. Further, the mobile unit is mechanical based automated system and can be portable. The basic design doesn’t need any electric power which thereby yields a robust design. Around 65% of the Municipal Budget (Bangalore solid waste management budget is around Rs 5500 Cr) - Allocated to Collection &Transportation can be reduced with the implementation of community based treatment plant. Waste to Valuable products will counter all the challenges faced in the waste management with an environment sustainable technology. Mangalore Municipal Corporation has approved our project to work in Ujire Panchayat. The Company in the process of final stage of trials of running the AMU. Our goal is to provide a cost effective, customizable and an all mechanical AMU for the community to process organic waste at community level independently.
