While India’s population is growing at 2% year-on-year, the senior citizen population is growing at 4% year-on-year , hence, we needs to gear up for a crisis (by 2050, the number of elderly in India would be 308 million which would be 20% of the population) .The current (and future) challenge is not only the sheer number of seniors but also about our ill preparedness to deal with this population, both from an economic and social standpoint. Increased life expectancy, reduced fertility rates, changing family structures, women joining the workforce & the middle class moving abroad, are all contributors to the immense burden on the current workforce . Seniors First is a “services platform” created by healthcare professionals, with the bold ambition to organize the key verticals within the Senior service industry, bringing in the benefits of scale - structured processes, systems, standardisation, transparency and trust. We intend to be the one stop shop for all senior care services & products available in the market enabling them to lead an independent, dignified & engaged life. Hence,this platform will enable billions of dollars in commerce annually, create jobs for millions of service professionals and reshape the face of seniority in India.
