ZFirst LLP is a lending platform for India’s Emerging Middle Class focusing on Tier 2 to Tier 6 towns. On one hand, there is a huge funding gap in India: As per a study conducted by International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Bank Group, there are about 6 Crore MSMEs in India, generating employment for about 124 Million people, contributing about 31% to India’s GDP and about 45% to India’s exports. Despite the importance of MSMEs in India, they are not fully covered and there is a Debt Demand of Rs.69.3 Trillion (USD 1.1 Trillion), of this the immediate addressable demand is Rs.25.8 Trillion (USD 397 Billion). On the other hand, India has embarked upon a journey of financial inclusion for all its people. There are various schemes and initiatives by the Government and RBI to promote this. Financial Inclusion is also one of the Sustainable Development Goals of the United Nations. We believe, one of the key areas that can help achieve financial inclusion is to provide institutional finance to MSMEs that help create livelihoods (employing 124 Million people). With this idea in mind, we want to launch a lending platform (including NBFC), that can work towards the betterment of MSMEs in India; driving financial inclusion and providing credit based on sound risk principles.
