Company Profile: Founded in 2015 by Nikhil Sikri, Sneha Choudhry, and Akhil Sikri, Zolo Stays is India's largest co-living platform which provides a seamless tech-enabled living experience for young professionals and students in a vibrant community-centered environment. It is currently operational across cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Pune, Kota, Noida, Gurgaon, Delhi, Coimbatore, Mumbai, and Hyderabad. It has a current capacity is about 45,000 beds across 300+ properties operating at 85%+ occupancy and has already served more than 60,000 customers since its inception. Zolo raised $30million in its Series B funding in January led by Nexus Venture Partners, IDFC Alternatives and Mirae Asset. Product Details: Zolo Stays has a three-tiered product offering - Zolo Standard, Zolo Select, and Zolo Scholar. Zolo Standard is affordably priced sharing accommodation in standalone buildings for students and working professionals at entry and mid-level located near corporate hubs and residential clusters. Zolo Select is a customized offering designed for working professionals at higher income brackets. These are mostly premium single occupancy accommodations with amenities such as swimming pool, clubhouse, and entertainment zones located inside premium and luxury residential townships. Zolo Scholar provides off-campus accommodation for students with facilities and services designed specifically for their needs, supporting minimal lifestyles at an affordable budget. Technological Innovation at Zolo: At Zolo, technology is extensively used to provide better customers' experience and support business decision making: • Finding best roommates: Zolo is implementing AI-based techniques to profile incoming residents to provide for the best roommate match for them based on occupation, education, interests, degrees of connection, etc. • Drive community engagement: Gamification techniques have been used to induce behavioral change and increase resident participation in community events, and interactions between residents and between residents and property staff • Improving security: IoT sensors have been deployed to notify Zoloites whenever her/his room has been opened by the caretaker or housekeeping staff. • Reducing food waste - We are using ML-based prediction algorithms to figure out the food consumption in a specific property based on occupancy, resident availability/intent and past resident behavior to minimize food wastage on a given day. • Saving water - Smart sensors have been installed to predict anomalous water usage by a specific unit within a property to identify leakages or inadvertent wastage. • Better product-market fit: Zolo’s big data team helps discover new opportunities, customize its offerings based on specific market needs which, in turn, translates to higher adoption and customer satisfaction. Employment Generation: Zolo presently employs 2000+ employees across the 10 cities it operates in.
