Bio Resources Development Centre

Incubator Shillong, Meghalaya Government funded

In their own words

The Bio-Resources Development Centre (BRDC), Meghalaya, is not only a hub for conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity but also serves as an incubation centre that supports startups and entrepreneurs working in related fields. By providing access to its laboratories, technical expertise, and capacity-building programmes, BRDC helps innovators and small enterprises develop bio-based products and technologies that are both eco-friendly and commercially viable. The Centre fosters entrepreneurship in areas such as tissue culture, bio-inoculants, bio-control agents, and value addition of local resources, enabling young enterprises to translate scientific knowledge into practical solutions for farming communities and society at large. Through mentorship, training, and collaborative networks with government agencies and research institutions, BRDC creates an enabling environment for startups to grow, thereby strengthening the bio-economy of Meghalaya while promoting sustainable livelihoods.
