Maharashtra Defence and Aerospace Venture Fund is a Category II - Alternative Investment Fund registered with SEBI. The Fund intends to invest to promote sustainable enterprises in the areas of defence, aerospace and its allied sectors which are domiciled in Maharashtra, India through multiple instruments such as equity or equity-linked investments including convertible instruments and debentures. Fund Investment Criteria : Regulatory status of Investee companies: The fund invests only in companies registered in India under The Companies Act, 2013 (or registered under the erstwhile Act) Geographical focus: The fund will invest only in companies that are located in Maharashtra, India or are willing to expand in Maharashtra, India where expenditure and investment will be in Maharashtra, India. Excellent entrepreneurial qualities: The fund will look for excellent entrepreneurial qualities in the promoters and have an ambition to take the company to the next level with the presence of strong top management team with proven ability Relevance: The fund will select businesses which potentially have high scalability or are technologically advanced or are strategically important. Investment period and exits: A well-defined exit path with the mutually agreed time-frame. However, the exit options will be periodically reviewed to take into account the changing market conditions. Targeted Sectors: Defence industries, aerospace industries and the companies supplying goods or services or components to the defence and aerospace sectors and other industries specified by the Ministry of Defence, Government of India.
