Our extensive field research suggests that: • insufficient validation of test authenticity, • possibilities of tampering the issued certificates, • lesser accountability, • decrepit pricing-structure, and many such gaps in the current vehicle emission testing process, have led to a surge in false PUC certificates, and loss of control, revenues and reputation for all stakeholders. ETCNS (Emission Testing Centres’Networking System) is a secured solution which intends to network state-wide Emission Test Centres (ETCs), manages all stakeholders centrally, ensures presence and authenticity of vehicle emission testing components and tries addressing most prevalent fraudulent scenarios in the emission testing process through multiple and multi-level real time checkpoints. This will help the Transport dept. earn more revenues, have better control over vehicle emission testing ecosystem and get more insights to reduce automobile pollution, thereby ensuring overall environmental wellness.
