FALI is rooted in the research by IIM Ahmedabad students which indicates that most children and their parents do not want the next generation to go into agriculture, largely because they see it as an unpromising activity, based upon the experience of India’s many small and marginal farmers. Many young people in rural areas are hesitant to enter farming because they see the hard life and low earnings of their parents in subsistence agriculture. Future Agriculture Leaders of India (FALI) provides interactive education, exposure, and experiences to students in rural schools of India, geared to giving these young people the knowledge and passion needed to be leaders in modern Indian agriculture and agro-enterprises.
