I, Utpala Talukdar, being the think tank behind this project, would like to take the opportunity of introducing our initiative of sustaining traditional weaving techniques in northeast India with our Hand Loom Textile and Apparel label ATUT. For ATUT , the Assamese artisans from North East India, making the material on hand looms, in home studios are keeping alive the skills and ethnicity of the traditional weavers that is the core aspect of a project which goes beyond production of fashion gears. ATUT is an attempt to connect the lives of the Assamese weavers to the contemporary society through its modern yet traditional Hand Loom Textile and Fashion Produce.Every textile and handloom produced at ATUT, is a product of ‘leisurely produced designs and fabric’, that are handcrafted by local Assamese artisans, giving every clothing an emotional and a non-mechanical touch. As all the fabrics produced are 100% handmade. The USP of the product are the unique motifs that are inspired by the flora and fauna of the region, traditional instruments and accessories. ATUT aims at sustaining these patterns, adapting them as per the contemporary fashion world. ATUT’s creative process is a special alchemy of story-telling, illustration, hand-weaving and hand finishing of textiles that can be used in clothing, interior décor or bath line, for your most enjoyable experience.
