BangoDhara is a sustainable agribusiness venture based in Dhaniakhali, Hooghly, West Bengal, founded by Sukanta Singha Roy, who has successfully completed Agriculture Skill Council of India training. The startup focuses on eco-friendly oyster mushroom farming and a zero-waste agricultural model. Guided by advisor Avijit Basu Roy, a BCKV-certified expert with 20+ years of experience, BangoDhara produces a range of value-added products like mushroom powder, ladoo, pickle, papad, protein-rich biscuits, soup, and vermicompost. The initiative empowers Self-Help Groups (SHGs) and differently-abled individuals through training and employment. Its mushroom protein-based products are sold through B2B and B2C channels, including social media, local markets, and railway stations. Incubated by ABIF and AFBIC at IIT Kharagpur, BangoDhara has recorded ₹5.93 lakh in sales and ₹3.62 lakh in profit since its inception in August 2022. With plans to expand into metro cities and global markets, it aims to build a scalable, inclusive, and sustainable rural agri-enterprise.
