A pioneer in film-making, he turned into a social entrepreneur and a humanitarian, Udyan ventured into the industry to make it big and has been lending his expertise to the sector ever since. With the epicenter of the empowerment and the company hub being Bihar and Jharkhand, the company is encouraging local talent across India. In the past 5 years, Banka has come a long way while addressing social concerns and working towards them. Recently Banka has associated with PWC division of Maharashtra Government, where they are planning on developing silk industries in the districts of Bhandara / Gadchiroli as part of the Maharashtra Employment Mission project. Banka Silk has associated with Welspun India Limited, the global home textile which launched Project Saksham with intent to connect with Welspun and their employees residing in Bihar and Jharkhand. The initiative is further reassuring the workers about their well-being along with creating awareness about precautionary measures for COVID-19 in the local communities. The collaboration with Welspun Banka is resulting in an expanded reach and has covered over one lakh individuals across 15 districts including Banka, Bhagalpur, Dumka, Godda, Patna, Gaya, Madhubani. Distributing masks and relevant informatory material, the allegiance is focusing on educating people about the safety guidelines and measures taken by Banka Silk's members. The company launched in 2015 consists of a team of motivated individuals who are relentlessly working towards minimizing the gap between the local weavers and the end-consumers. Providing access to the global market, Banka Silk is focusing on building a fair and consistent pay-scale for these artisans to live and thrive on. Investing most of the profit of the business in education and training programs for the local weavers and their communities, Banka Silk is striving to create a difference in society as it does its bit for it.
