POIS is an ecosystem of interactions between consumers and merchants to serve proximity based digital experiences. The ecosystem consists of three things - a web software for merchants, hardware for merchants and a mobile application for consumers. The web software for merchants consists of billing features, inbuilt payment collection, working capital credit, customised branding, etc. The merchants create a consumer interface of their own specific brands. The hardware creates Bluetooth proximity zone which interacts with consumers smartphone app notifying the merchant of user's presence and their preferences. Now the smartphone application works its magic once the user walks into the proximity zone. The app behaves according to the user's location, for e.g if the user is at a metro/bus station, he can simply walk inside the metro station and as soon as they walk-outside of the station, the payments can be deducted automatically according to their journey. If someone walks inside a coffee shop, a custom branded coffee shop menu will be displayed on user's phone in the same app which was ticketing before. This is a contextual user experience which enhances a lot more when it starts working at scale. Walk-out payments, auto-ticketing and auto-tolls, etc. can all work with one single application on user's phone while maintaining branding interests of merchant providers. Also the app will have multiple payments processing options from cards to wallets like PayTM.
