Bored Room Ideas Private limited (BRI) is a burgeoning new venture that has been constituted with the aim to redress the urban waste disposal crisis and reinvent the waste management methods and infrastructure available in the Country. At BRI, we consider it to be our moral imperative to contribute to the cause of non exploitative development leading to shared vision of “Clean India”, and we have taken our first step by bringing in place a solution for a very common yet perilous category of waste, known as Plastic Waste, in form of our avant-garde project “BaiYo” – Reverse Vending Machine in your phone. BaiYo is an integrated plastic bottle recycling mechanism that combines the best practices of reverse vending machines with state-of-the-art SaaS solutions resulting in engagement of every stakeholder in the plastic waste ecosystem BaiYo provides a pragmatic answer to the problem of dearth of comprehensive end to end plastic waste eliminating processes, by recycling it in the most judicious way and a robust feedback mechanism enabling the end user to monitor their input disposal rate with corresponding reward and being informed of the impact their single conscious choice has on the overall environment by way of “green milestone notifications“. The BaiYo process highlights – Technical standouts 1) Artificial Intelligence driven – BaiYo has a robust bottle recognition system that enables it to identify and differentiates the plastic bottles from any other material being disposed and reject the non-plastic component entirely, further with the help of AI, the plastic input is analysed in terms of type, shape, weight, size etc in order to offer a corresponding reward to the end user. 2) Cloud based access – We have diligently used the cloud computing to streamline the operation and access of RVM for the users as well as programmers, RVM is connected to the cloud server which enables 24*7 uninterrupted data input /output and storage and the server is connected with the mobile applications ensuring real time update and notifications to the users. 3) Truly unlimited Internet of Things – RVMs are embedded with Raspberry Pie chips for the purpose of connecting and exchanging data with systems over the internet, IoT chip in RVM is coded to respond to the triggers from the cloud servers, ensuring full control and access 24*7. 4) Real time communication at all level – Smart Notifications automate the monitoring of critical mechanical and electrical aspects of the equipment and talk directly to the personnel concerned, for example creating alerts for logistics when the machine is almost full. These give instant in-app notifications when an RVM needs attendance, such as a storage bin approaching full capacity. Strategy standouts and reward system – 1) Loyalty programme – Our Green Milestone programme is all set to make recycling a rewarding process for the end users by offering redeemable points and thereby generating an environment driven incentive approach for cultivating a habit of conscious waste disposal in public 2) E-commerce inclusion – The points earned by users are kept redeemable against eco-friendly products listed on the MyBaiYo app. We ensure that the sense of “reward for good” is instilled in the public at large along with awareness of sustainable alternative. 3) Gamification through app – With the myBaiYo app, recyclers scan their barcode at the start of a return’s session, so they can track recycling milestones and earn badges for their efforts. Achievements include number of containers recycled, number of recycling sessions, and more. 4) Mobility Advantage – we aim at bringing the RVM to people instead of bringing people to RVM, by way of dedicated rotational transportation of RVM to familiarize them with the machine and its workings. Investment viability – A brief of revenue model. The revenue model is divided into two parts, primarily, from collaborations with agencies for display of brands and advertisement leading to increased promotionof the partner product and sale of disposed plastic and secondarily from developing environment friendly products by utilizing the recycled plastic We are consciously designing the RVM considering the standard safety guidelines issued by the government and incorporating Automated Full-Cut off features making it secure for public places and users and routine stray animal encounters. The design is kept concise and free from sharp or open ends. During prolonged periods of non-usage, RVM automatically switches to energy saver modes to conserve energy. Our aim of making India, technologically self-sufficient and the flagbearer of sustainable growth is strictly in line with the motto of Clean India and Make in India programmes, we believe in harnessing the indigenous capabilities and delivering the world class solutions.
