What this record amounts to

CARING is a Startup India record we can place no finer than Delhi district, which holds 43,654 records in this snapshot. 961 of those records are filed under AI, 2% of the district. It carries no funding signal of any class, which is true of 39,426 of the 43,654 records in Delhi.

Every figure above is counted from the 2026-08 snapshot and is the same number the page it links to prints.

In their own words

About CARING CARING - the Centre for Advanced Research in Imaging, Neuroscience & Genomics - is the research and development wing of Mahajan Imaging, one of India’s leading medical imaging service providers. CARING has established a global leadership position in the medical imaging AI space - it has published the first paper on radiology AI in The Lancet, presented 18 papers at the Radiology Society of North America’s annual conference in 2018 and 30 papers at the European Congress of Radiology in 2019, and works with more than 20 AI research groups across the world. Problem statement There are many AI companies and research groups across the world developing deep learning based solutions for medical imaging. Each group typically works on 1-2 problem statements - for example - automated chest X-Ray reporting, automated chest CT reporting, automated head CT reporting etc. They all target a common customer, i.e. the radiologist (within a radiology department or hospital). For the radiologist, it is impossible to first validate the functioning of these algorithms, and second, interact with multiple developers with each addressing different body parts and modalities (CT, MRI, X-Ray etc.). Additionally, most developers lack insight into how their algorithms should integrate with clinical practice. Solution created CARING has created RAID - Radiology AI Deployment - a platform for hosting multiple AI algorithms for the purpose of validating and deploying them in clinical settings. It is an on-prem solution which addresses problems of speed of data transfer and AI result generation, and also patient data privacy. None of the data has to leave the hospitals premises. Role of augmentation RAID augments the process of performing radiology investigations such as X-Ray, MRI and CT scans. It can be used for automated normal vs abnormal delineation of medical images, quality assurance of radiologists reading these scans, real-time secondary radiology reads, cancer screening etc. It is a single point AI enablement solution for hospitals and stand-alone diagnostic centres. Impact and results Example deployment at Mahajan Imaging in New Delhi - RAID pulls all chest X-Rays in real time performed at one of Mahajan Imaging’s centres and automatically runs a high-sensitivity AI algorithm to detect whether the X-Ray is normal or not. If the AI finds the X-Ray to be normal, then a report is automatically created which a radiologist can verify before issuing to patients. Over the past few months more than 5,000 X-Rays have been read by this AI, saving critical time for radiologists and the algorithm is being implemented in 7 other sites where RAID is installed.

The neighbourhood

This record carries no locality line, so the district is the finest ring we can place it in.

What we do not know

We have no liveness signal for any company on this site: no filings feed, no revenue, no check that the website still resolves. A record existing here means a record exists, not that a business is trading.

Is this your company?

Everything here comes from public government records. If something is wrong, the authoritative place to correct it is the Startup India portal itself, and we will pick the correction up on the next monthly snapshot.
