Central Gas India ESCO PL (“CGVI”) is pursing the opportunity in India to introduce Bobtail delivered Bulk LPG with an initial focus on Small and Medium size Industries (“SMIs”) that are not connected to the Natural Gas Grid. (In the future, there will also be a significant opportunity for Bobtail/Bulk LPG to serve off-grid commercial and domestic LPG sectors as well). At present in India, Bulk LPG is only available to the largest energy consumers who can receive full trailer deliveries of LPG, which only makes economic sense if at least 15 to 20 tonnes of LPG storage is available, which is why SMIs (who consume on average 5 to 15 tonnes of LPG per month) utilize inefficient and less safe LPG cylinders that have to be manually replaced on a continuous basis. More significant, Bobtail Bulk LPG makes it feasible for SMIs to convert from HSD, FO and other more polluting fuels to LPG and realize significant cost savings. As an Energy Services Company (“ESCO”), CGVI’s business model is to invest in customer’s installations and share in the cost savings they will realize from their conversion to Bobtail/Bulk LPG, which can be as high as 30-50% based on current FO and HSD prices.
