CoolCrop seeks to eliminate poverty among small and marginal farmers by providing access to crop preservation and marketing technologies to get up to a 10 times price difference from in season to out of season. CoolCrop works directly with farmers, local NGOs, and farmer cooperatives, provides training on crop preservation practices, and ensures accesses to financing. Customer acquisition comes from these partnerships, trade shows/conferences, and previous customer recommendations. The 2 part solution: 1) An on-farm, solar-powered modular cold storage unit which can be used by one or many farmers. After harvest, perishable produce is quickly brought to optimal storage conditions resulting in significant increase in produce quality and life (up to a 6 times increase). 2) The predictive market analytics platform guides farmers on expected market produce prices over the period of storage. This helps them decide when and where to sell it to get the best price (up to a 10 times increase).
