Connecting Wives is an online Facebook community exclusively for women that was started three years ago and now has over 200,000 women members of which 95% of are based in India. Connecting Wives helps to encourage and support its women members by catering to their professional & personal needs, whether it is to make friends, to answer questions or to promote their businesses. 1) Connecting Wives currently provides a FREE platform for women to promote their products/services, interact directly with clients and increase their sales, thereby empowering them to create a client base that they never would’ve otherwise and grow their businesses multifold. We have received many thank you messages from these vendors for giving them this opportunity. One such message from a housewife mentions how she was under depression because her family business collapsed nine months ago and Connecting Wives gave her a new ray of hope. Today she is running her house through the profits she earns by selling her products on the group and she is so thankful saying that “we were Godsent to her”. 2) Connecting Wives is a close-knit community where women are able to make new friends, thereby making it easier for them to settle in their environment and expand their friends circle. Connecting Wives also creates a medium to solve these women’s problems instantly - be it emotional, financial or need based - by posting a question and instantly receiving a feedback from other women on the group. Connecting Wives is one of the largest, comprehensive women’s only group. We have already developed our own IOS/andorid mobile applications with enhanced features to help support women entrepreneurship and create a sense of community amongst women. For example, through our own application, we have created a separate chatroom and allow users to post anonymously (through a pen name), thereby encouraging more discussions on personal/intimate issues and providing a support network for women. We have also segregated the marketplace section into topics, making it easier for members to find what they are looking for. We also have enabled users to filter posts according to their location, so members have the opportunity to connect on a local level as well as a global level. These applications are in the final stages and are set to be launched in October 2018.
