Dear Sir/Madam, DeTec Innovations Private Ltd. aims to design and develop state of the art miniaturized Raman spectrometers. Raman spectroscopy measures vibrational energy of molecular bonds in a sample and a Raman spectrum can act as a fingerprint of the sample under investigation. In the past few years, there has been an enormous growth in miniaturized photonic technologies, led by the smartphone industry. Cloud based computing and AI (artificial intelligence) based algorithms are also progressing at an incredible speed. We aim to leverage the strength of these technologies, combine them and integrate them to design and build a miniaturized Raman spectrometer that can ultimately be used with a smartphone. The experts working with DeTec are world leaders in the field of Raman spectroscopy and the design and development of photonic instrumentation in this regard. We would particularly like to mention Dr. Gajendra Pratap Singh, who has extensive expertise in developing Raman technology at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA for the past 10 years and Professor Juan Manuel Madariaga Mota at the University of Basque country, Spain who develops Raman technology for space agencies such as NASA (National Aeronautics and Space Administration), USA and ESA (European Space Agency). The Startup India program will help DeTec in its growth and provide lifeline in its initial years.
