SMART RESERVOIR SYSTEM Features: The Internet of things (IoT) is the extension of Internet connectivity into physical devices and everyday objects. Embedded with electronics, Internet connectivity, and other forms of hardware, these devices can communicate and interact with others over the Internet, and they can be remotely monitored and controlled. • Smart reservoir system is working based on IoT. • Blockchain-based decentralized private network • Water level sensing is carried out with the help of sensors. • The values collected by the sensor are sent to substation via a short-range RF module. • In a substation, the data is fed to IoT. • The level of every reservoir can be uploaded in this way. • Water level monitoring of every reservoir can be graphically obtained through IoT dashboard. Advantages: • The smart system enables automatic working even without human interference. • Hazardous situation handling can be made without the physical presence of the human. • Water level rise can be monitored at every instant. • Sudden rise in water can be monitored and necessary actions can be made. • Manpower reduction. Comparison: • Without a human presence, operations can be made • In this smart system, physical scales are absent and instead, a sensor with microcontroller performs the task of water level monitoring. • Earlier water level data was available only at dam site but now the data level is available at any place where internet access is available. • Shutters can be raised automatically as well as manually with respect to the need. Technology: • Water level sensing using a sensor. • Data from sensors are collected to ATmega series Microcontroller. • The value from Microcontroller is sent to the nearest substation via the RF module. • From substation, the received data is uploaded to IoT platform. • The water level and all circumstances can be monitored anywhere. • On reaching the critical water level, the shutters are opened automatically. • There is also a provision to raise the shutters manually. • Entire system secured by blockchain technology, so that a third person or hacker cannot manipulate the system.
