Even after producing mushroom on such a large scale, our country lacks behind globally when it comes to mushroom production and consumption, both. The major cause of this trend is the lack of awareness and lack of the right platform to purchase value added mushroom products, especially the medicinal mushrooms like Cordycep Militaris. Major root cause for unavailability of such healthy and immunity driven mushrooms and their value added products is that small growers, co-operative growers societies, big farmers and some corporate organizations are engaged in production for only button mushrooms and no other variants. I have been trained in Cordycep Militaris production which brought me into growing and selling it in Fresh, Dry and powered form to pharmaceutical, sports and B2C channels. Considering the higher cost of production and sales of this Super food, generating financial viability is difficult as a common household cannot afford to include such cost in their everyday spending capacity even for the sake of health and immunity. Hence, the vision is to create a sustainable ecosystem to procure or produce such medicinal/exotic mushrooms, process them and fortify them into everyday consumable food products like tea, coffee, soups, pasta, ready to eat batter and supplements with acceptable quantity following certified practices and market them by creating a dedicated offline and online distribution system like E-commerce platforms, GeM portals and PAN-India supply. Professional training can help a new Agripreneur or even a mushroom hobbyist understand the intricacies involved in producing the perfect batch of medicinal mushrooms in their own space at their own level or market these superfood after their fortification into affordable food products. The health and immunity aspects of such mushrooms has already been proven and published in many leading journals and scientific portals.
