Rapid urbanization and poor connectivity provided by public transportation has seen scooter sales rise for 13 consecutive years. In 5 years, each scooter costs INR 31,500 to Government and INR 40,000 to the customer in subsidies, fuel and maintenance; in addition to contributing to 30 plus percent of all air pollution. Recognizing the poor quality of transit and global warming caused by rapidly increasing personal ownership of vehicles in India, we propose Emoby Ventures Pvt. Ltd. Emoby Ventures will operate our Mobility as a Service (MaaS) offering: Emoby. These electric smart scooters— available for public sharing— will tell you about your ride and your contribution to reducing carbon footprint. Petrol scooter owners, who bear a huge lifetime total cost of ownership of INR 1,50,000, can also get rid of it. Customers can enjoy the convenience of a personal scooter without owning it! Guided by a mobile application (iOS and Android), electric scooters can be located at designated pick-up and drop-off (P&D) points. Customers can reserve an e-scooter in advance, unlock the scooter using state of the art mobile app, IoT and connectivity features. Once the ride is complete, customers will park the scooter at same or another P&D point. The customer will ONLY pay for the ride time and distance. We will take care of everything else! Our team will monitor the operations through a back-end user and vehicle management software that keeps track of all the vehicles, users, operations team responsible for maintaining vehicles, swapping discharged batteries with charged ones. The dashboard will provide insights on performance and will have embedded predictive analytics about rides and demand.
