Encode Life is a startup working on bringing cost-effective, sustainable, compostable bioplastics to India, replacing single-use plastics. Our vision is aligned with BioE3 policy for economy, environment, and employment. Our aim is to do research to bring down the cost of manufacturing and explore avenues where single use plastics can be replaced with our bioplastics. We have initiated a few of our research work around use of bioplastics for clear tooth aligners, which are currently being made of plastics, which leach down to the human body and cause multiple health concerns. Also, we have our methodology ready for doing next research on feedstock assessment and strain engineering for bringing down the cost of PLA (polylactic acid) manufacturing in India.
