Current maintenance practices for critical assets like aircraft, ships, and industrial structural infrastructure rely on costly, labour-intensive schedules that often fail to detect early-stage corrosion. This leads to unnecessary inspections or undetected failures. Our goal is to enable predictive maintenance through real-time, environment- aware corrosion monitoring and analytics, minimizing downtime and improving asset reliability and safety. Additionally, this supports the Industry 5.0 ecosystem by integrating AI-driven workflows and digital twins to enhance sustainability, extending critical asset life through prognostic health monitoring and optimized material selection tailored to location-specific environmental conditions. The idea is to develop a compact, energy-efficient sensor network that monitors real- time corrosion and environmental severity. By fusing multi-parameter data with predictive algorithms and AI-driven analytics, the system delivers actionable insights on material degradation and environmental corrosivity. Its innovation lies in combining embedded sensing, wireless communication, and advanced analytics to enable condition-based maintenance and dynamic material/coating selection. This approach aligns with Industry 5.0 principles by incorporating human-centric AI collaboration, enhancing sustainability by prolonging asset life and reducing resource waste.
