Scientific Disposal of Waste is always been a critical issue in Indian Continent. Lacuna in processes of collection and segregation operated under Municipal Corporations/Councils towards scientific disposal of waste is evident. The Environment (mother earth) & Human Being (handling waste segregation for their livelihood), both remain dangerously exposed to waste which is fatal. Data shows that 9,000 tons of sanitary waste (of 432 Million pads) is generated annually and 93% of this waste is either flushed down the toilet or dumped in the open landfill. Human hands ought to segregate these from the garbage to earn them their livelihood through recovered metal/s. Micro-organisms like E.coli, Salmonella, Staphylococcus, Clostridium, HIV and pathogens that cause hepatitis risk the lives of these rag pickers.
