In their own words
ExpensAce is a rupee‑first, India‑focused personal finance startup that helps individuals understand and manage their money without linking net‑banking or juggling spreadsheets. Instead of asking users to share sensitive credentials, the app securely reads existing SMS and email alerts from banks and card providers to automatically build a real‑time view of expenses, budgets and goals tailored to Indian spending patterns. The core innovation lies in how ExpensAce uses on‑device parsing, categorisation and automation to turn unstructured financial messages into clean, structured insights for everyday users. Most expense apps in India either rely on manual entry (which quickly breaks down) or force users to connect bank accounts, which creates trust and privacy concerns for a large section of the population. ExpensAce solves this by working with the data Indians already receive on their phones—SMS alerts, statement emails and PDFs—and converting them into transactions, budgets, and monthly finance reports with minimal manual effort. The product is designed specifically for India and for the rupee: categories, sub‑categories and insights are built around how Indians actually spend (household expenses, shared bills, UPI payments, local merchants, subscriptions, etc.), rather than generic dollar‑based templates. The interface is modern, mobile‑first and accessible for users from 21 to 65, with clear nudges instead of jargon, and with a strong focus on privacy (no compulsory net‑banking linking). This “Made for India, rupee‑first” approach is a key differentiator from global expense apps that are not tuned for local behaviours or SMS‑based transaction culture. Technically, ExpensAce is built as a cross‑platform Flutter application so that a single, continuously improving codebase can serve users on both Android and iOS. On top of the core app, we are developing AI‑assisted rules for transaction parsing and categorisation, PDF bill parsing for
