i) Ferro guard is special technology water based single component liquid product with precious metal from inorganic chemicals without any polymer/resin in it; hence it is an eco-friendly product. ii) It is a ready to use formulation product and can be applied by simple methods of dipping/brushing, showering or spraying technique without addition of water or solvent on dry steel substrate free from oil, grease, dust, old paints & on flash rust. Within few minutes of its application it develops a protective cover (thin film) over the base metal through the phenomenon of chemisorptions by enhancing nobility of metal and helps in preventing corrosion effect for a longer duration. The only condition is that, the metal /steel substrate should remain in contact with Ferro Guard for about 3-5 seconds only followed by natural drying, hence productivity will increase and infrastructure facility for stoving is not required for quick drying of this product. iii) The coating thickness (DFT) is in the range of 2-8 microns and claimed corrosion resistant for more than 2000 hours in salt spray as per ASTM B 117 and 2000 hours in humidity test as per IS: 101(Part 6/Sec 1)- 1988 respectively with epoxy primer and top coat of cumulative DFT 60 microns. iv) The product is impact resistant to 1.572 kg from 100 inch height as per ASTM D 2794, scratch resistant up to 3 kg as per IS: 101(Part 5/Sec 2)-1988 and is stable in the temperature range of -30 ̊C to + 300 ̊C. v) The product is non-toxic, non-evaporative and non- inflammable in nature and shelf life for 12-18 months in closed container. The expected service life (under stated specified conditions) is more than 2 years.
