We are an Agritech startup, based out of Pondicherry and co-founded by two ex-Army Officers and two Technology Professionals. Please checkout www.gratitudefarms.co.in Our work is rooted in traditional organic farming practices but is being integrated with latest technologies (Farm ERP, IoT and IoA based systems) and management practices to increase yield (and hence economic viability for marginal farmers), scalability and replicability. Our Mission is to develop and support 5,000 ex-soldiers and their family members as self-sustaining organic farming entrepreneurs in next five years. We already have 20 acres of land with us for dense organic farming (Food forest concept) in various stages of production. We are working with Army authorities and Ex- Servicemen Organisations in Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry to enlist 100 ex-soldiers in next 6 months (approximate acreage assumed 2 acres per ex-soldier) and 1000 in next 12-18 months. We already have an operational organic farm outside Pondicherry with: Model 2-acre organic farm as the central place for our traditional organic farming practices integrating latest technologies and management practices, that are then replicated in the farms of ex-soldiers who work with us. We have setup a model Organic Farm outside Pondicherry with three models of Aquaponics. Our Approach to Sales · Samriddhi Naturals. We are working closely with Mission Samriddhi to develop a model that can be scaled up nationally in due course, where ex-soldiers’ farm-produce is sold through retail outlets under “Samriddhi Naturals” brand. We are opening our first Samriddhi Naturals outlet within the campus of Intellect Design Arena, Chennai in early Aug 2019. We plan to open 20 Samriddhi Naturals outlets by Dec 2019 in Chennai. As the model matures, we plan to take Samriddhi Naturals brand to other cities and open 100 outlets in major cities in next 12-18 months. · Direct-to-Home Delivery. We are developing e-commerce / app-based sales model for direct-to-home delivery. This mode of delivery has been successfully deployed in Pondicherry where we now have over 240 individual customers and working to reach the level of 5000 in next six months. At an appropriate time, we would be looking at export markets for our produce. How does the ex-Soldier Farmer benefit? The sales proceeds will be shared with farmers working with us at 50:50 ratio. We are currently in early stages of the deployment of the model, but we are working towards a goal of helping each farmer earn Rs. 3-4 lakhs per acre per year over a period of three years. .
