Because telling a story is an impactful way to get closer to a brand, here's the journey of Grey Soul Coffee Roasters, founded by Chirag, a passionate home brewer and roaster for over a decade. In January 2021, Chirag embarked on a journey to Karnataka, a trip that marked the beginning of Grey Soul Coffee Roasters. During the pandemic, he saw an opportunity to channel his passion for specialty coffee into a business. He set three primary goals: solidifying the brand's vision, understanding the grassroots level, and getting certified and trained for the official launch. By December 2020, the mission and vision of Grey Soul Coffee Roasters were in place, focusing on experimental roasting, curating blends, and discovering unique flavor profiles. Concurrently, work on the brand's identity, communication, technology, and packaging began, cupping, brewing, and training, Grey Soul sourced its first green bean lots. This journey also highlighted the risk to biodiversity, prompting the creation of the "1% for Diversity" initiative. In From February to April 2021, Chirag visited coffee farms in Karnataka, Coorg, Kerala, and Nagaland. He engaged with producers, estate managers, and coffee pickers, gaining a deep understanding of the agricultural intricacies and diverse flavor profiles of Indian specialty coffee. After extensive May 2021, Grey Soul Coffee Roasters officially launched. The roastery, built from the ground up, included facilities for storage, quality control, roasting, brewing, packaging, and dispatch. On May 14, 2021, they went live on social media, with their online store, marking an unforgettable milestone. Today, Grey Soul Coffee Roasters practices direct trade, ensuring traceability and transparency. They perform experimental roasts, produce high-scoring lots, and collaborate with independent producers. Their passion for specialty coffee continues to drive their mission of uniting coffee enthusiasts worldwide.
