Half Circle Coffee is an innovative food and beverage startup pioneering India's Fourth Wave coffee movement through the science of co-fermentation and anaerobic fermentation — a processing methodology that originated in the Netherlands and has never before been applied systematically to Indian coffee beans. Indian-grown beans from regions like Coorg, Wayanad, and Araku Valley are naturally lower in aromatic complexity compared to East African varieties. Half Circle Coffee addresses this through proprietary fermentation protocols — sealing green beans in oxygen-controlled environments with fruit pulps and curated cultures — to infuse vivid, layered tasting notes that are then preserved through precision roasting. The result is a distinctly Indian cup with world-class flavour complexity, achieved naturally and without artificial flavouring. We go to market through two channels: a physical experience store offering guided tasting journeys that educate consumers about fermentation science, and a D2C e-commerce platform that scales this discovery nationally. This dual model drives agricultural value addition at origin, builds India's premium coffee category, and creates a scalable innovation platform with strong replication potential across metro markets.
