Heelium is an athletic footwear and wearables startup with primary focus on injury prevention. We are funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and incubated at Venture Center, Pune. We are striving to push the sports equipment and technology development in India to bolster the overall ecosystem and create a brand deep-rooted in innovation that delivers high-quality products. Our flagship product, currently in development, is a high performance running shoe with a novel midsole technology that provides almost 5 times more impact protection than a regular midsole. Our first product in the market will be premium athletic socks. The founder, Prateek Sharma, has a background in Sports and Materials Engineering, having worked notably with Adidas on sports footwear and Loughborough University, UK on Artificial Turf Development. We will be out in the market by December with our athletic socks made out of Bamboo. Bamboo has several advantages over cotton, with it being greener, more breathable, softer and more durable. The socks will also be anti-microbial which will resist the growth of odour causing bacteria and keep them fresher for days.
