Inksand Art & Crafts India Pvt. Ltd., (hereafter, inksand) is a social startup (registered under 1956 Companies Act) working for socially, economically and environmentally outcome oriented projects such as promotion of non-plastic jute bags, jute utilities products, art and crafts, and handicrafts aiming to reduce the use plastic and waste and thereby promote green behavior among people and contribute to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Inksand has strong linkage with women SHG groups in its backend to ensure sustained income, skills, capacity and empower them to become a stronger economic force in the market. Women empowerment, under the inclusive and SDGs, for traditional occupation group, SCs, STs and other weaker sections is the prime aim of Inksand. Currently, Inksand has a network of 300 women SHGs covering 400 families engaged in production of jute bags and other jute utility products apart from handicrafts and handloom products. Inksand play a vital role of value addition, diversification, innovation, marketing (online and offline) in partnership with support agencies and other to have a lasting and far-reaching impact and ensure sustainable income to the women.
