In their own words
We have started manufacturing cost effective wood chip bedding for laboratory animals like rat, mice, rabbit, guinea pigs. This wood chip bedding can replace conventional corncob bedding. Corncob has been reported to have endocrine disruption, mitogenic and estrogenic properties which is a risk for outcome of research involving experiments with laboratory animals i.e. regulatory toxicology studies and basic biological research with laboratory animals in India. These properties from conventional corncob bedding interferes with new drug discovery and basic biology research and can increase the number of animals used in basic and regulatory studies. In India many laboratory uses Imported corncob bedding, hence our wood chip bedding is safer and has potential to replace the imported laboratory consumables used in India. Few laboratory animal facilities has adopted our wood chip bedding and are satisfied in terms being economic over other bedding and better performance and safety with laboratory animals. We look forward for acceptance by most government laboratory animal facilities to stop usage of imported items, atleast for daily consumables like laboratory animal bedding and enrichment.
