This venture aims to develop an entity in tune with natural resources at Kanthalloor, renowned as the fruit bowl of Kerala in Idukki district. 5 acres of land are cultivated with premium-grade strawberries. Set up fruit processing centres, producing high-quality value-added products from the farm-fresh fruits, and make the place renowned globally in the name of strawberries. Traditional farming methods, guided by the scientific expertise from Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK, Idukki), produce the harvest of topmost quality and quantity. The serene climatic conditions of Kanthalloor, fertile soil, and tailored farming practices deliver the tasty strawberries of Kanthalloor. The collected fresh fruits are packed to sell at different fruit selling outlets, converted into different value-added products like strawberry jam, wine, and strawberry juice, etc. and sold. In addition to strawberries, other fruit items like blueberries, blackberries, apples, oranges, passion fruits, and vegetables like broccoli, kale, cauliflower, cabbage, and honey bees etc. are also being cultivated. Kanthalloor village is a renowned tourist destination, and the scenic location of the farm, with the splendor of fruits and vegetables exclusively cultivated at Kanthalloor only, in Kerala, makes it a hotspot for farm visits. The shopping outlet set up inside the farm makes the fresh products from the farm available for the visitors to purchase at a reasonable rate. The farm cottages planned on the farm also give an opportunity to the visitors to enjoy the silent and serene farm life with premium amenities and hospitality. The venture can give job opportunities to a minimum of 100 people, of whom most can be chosen from the local people skilled in traditional methods of farming. The entire development is planned in four phases, with the full project completion planned by 2030.
