India faces a critical gap between environmental awareness and the practical skills needed for sustainable action. This problem is most acute among school students who, despite being passionate about the environment, lack engaging, hands-on tools to address complex issues like sustainable agriculture, waste upcycling, and biodiversity conservation. The current educational model often stops at theory, failing to equip the next generation with the tangible skills required to innovate for a resilient future. This gap matters immensely today. To achieve the national vision of a 'Viksit Bharat' amid pressing climate challenges, we must empower our youth to become active participants in building a sustainable economy. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 explicitly calls for this shift towards experiential, problem-solving-based learning, yet educators lack the scalable tools to implement it effectively. Our venture, currently incubating at the Social Innovation and Incubation Centre (SIIC) at IIT Kanpur, is directly addressing this need by making practical games and DIY kits to supplement school and college education on sustainability and climate adaptation. Our initial product, the 'Kheti Baadi' board game on sustainable farming, has demonstrated strong traction and validated the problem. We have engaged over 100 students in workshops, with educators reporting a significant increase in student engagement with complex agricultural concepts. This success has illuminated a much larger demand: the need for a tech-driven platform of educational kits. This evidence directly informs our next phase of games and DIY Kits, an AI-powered biodiversity survey kit, engineering kits to retrofit academic campus and homes to minimize energy and water needs, board games on national park management, mosquito control and so on, validating the immense demand for tools that bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world environmental action.
